The days of social media are here! The newest trends are growing day by day and there is no end in sight. Who would have thought that technology would rule the way that we interact with clients and potential clients, alike. Would you have imagined a “like” on Facebook or a social interaction on Twitter could lead to a potential $10,000 sale? It’s the wave of the future! Take advantage of it! If you are not using a social media platform, or are only sending a tweet here or updating a post there, you may not be seeing the big picture.
The truth is, according to The International Business Times, nearly 71 percent of all Facebook users in the United States are adults. SEVENTY ONE PERCENT! Just envision the possibility of potentially reaching 71 percent of the demographics in your area with a single post. When it comes to Twitter, nearly 18 percent of all users in the United States are adults. And according to The Business Insider, YouTube reaches more adults, between the ages of 18-34, than any single cable network provider. It may sound insane to target an 18 or 24 year old, but the fact is that those 18 year olds and 24 year olds may be homeowners someday, if they aren’t already. And when that day comes to replace a roof or install new vinyl replacement windows, you could potentially be the company that they call first because you are a name that they recognize. These numbers are astonishing and are proof that there is more than one way to skin a cat when it comes to reaching potential customers.
The thing about most social media platforms, which stand out compared to other routes of advertising, is that they are virtually free! Sure you can install a pay per click feature to go after a target market or certain demographic, but that is if you choose to do so. Social media provides businesses with a great opportunity to stay engaged with the public. You can gain reviews, gain followers, even display projects that your business has completed, but most importantly your company is staying visible to consumers!
Don’t hesitate to promote a sale that your business may be planning or having. Talk about the weather, the change of seasons that occur and how it can affect a home. Heck, even talk about local sporting events that may be coming up. But do not forget that the key to building a strong social media presence, in any platform, is to stay current and engage with your audience. Again, as I said earlier, take full advantage of every opportunity that is available to you to promote your business.
